End Cap Size and Cable Exit Questions
Is the nominal cap opening the same as the finished outside size?
No. The internal opening describes the mating cavity; the outside size also includes the cap wall and end details. Do not use the cap opening as a groove-cutting dimension or substitute it for the silicone housing drawing.
Why are there two 1212 cable-exit options?
The catalogue lists a standard 4 mm outlet and a larger 5.2 mm outlet for the 1212 reference, both with a listed outlet length of 7 mm. Specify which outlet is required and provide the cable outside diameter and end arrangement. The 12 x 12 mm nominal opening alone does not select the outlet version.
Are wired caps and closed end caps always supplied together?
Specify the quantities of wired and closed ends required for your assembly. Several catalogue photographs show both arrangements for comparison, but the photograph does not establish the pack quantity or contents of your quotation.
Does selecting a silicone end cap establish an IP67 assembly?
No. The cap fit, cable outlet, sealing method and complete selected assembly must be assessed together. Do not treat the end cap by itself as proof of the finished installation's ingress protection rating.
Check the Cap Opening Against the Tube End
AlisterTech supplies catalogue end caps and can review custom silicone profile requirements. Compare the opening and section shape with the tube end, then specify a closed end or cable-exit arrangement. A similar model name or nominal size alone does not identify the correct fitting.
