Compare the Installation With the Lights Off
In a dark recess, an exposed white board may remain noticeable when the light is off. A dark board can be worth evaluating where that contrast matters, but the LED packages, contact pads and connectors can still be visible. A black board is not a promise that the entire assembly disappears.
Ask for an unlit sample view from the intended distance, followed by a powered view in the proposed enclosure. Keep the surrounding material in the comparison. A close-up photograph on a supplier's desk does not answer how the assembly will look behind your display edge.
