CROSS-SECTION & COMPATIBILITY

Match the Silicone Tube to Your LED Strip

A suitable outer shape is only the starting point. Review the space inside and the position of the light source.

SELECTION GUIDE

How to Choose the Right LED Silicone Tube

Different LED silicone tube profiles showing their outer shapes and internal strip channels
Profile Shape
Match the outer cross-section to the visible detail and available installation space.
Internal Space
Allow space for the strip, components, joints and intended assembly method.
LED Strip Fit
Check the strip width and component height against the selected profile before assembly.
Light Direction
Identify the surface that should emit light and its orientation after installation.
Bending Direction
Match the intended curve to the permitted bending direction of both the profile and strip.
Diffusion Requirement
Review the desired light appearance with the actual strip, silicone format and emitting surface.
Installation Method
Check how the profile will be held, inserted or assembled into the surrounding structure.
Application Environment
State the exposure conditions so material and complete assembly requirements can be reviewed.

COMPARE THE STRUCTURE

Silicone Tube or Rigid Diffuser?

Choose the construction that suits the installation. Neither format is a universal substitute for the other.

Flexibility
Silicone TubeFlexible profile; bending limits depend on its construction.
Rigid DiffuserShape-retaining cover, normally paired with a supporting profile.
Curved Installation
Silicone TubeCan follow a suitable curve within the approved bending direction.
Rigid DiffuserCurves require a cover and supporting system designed for that geometry.
Profile Geometry
Silicone TubeThe silicone cross-section forms the housing or visible light surface.
Rigid DiffuserThe cover cross-section matches the edges of a separate channel or housing.
LED Strip Integration
Silicone TubeInternal space and the insertion or assembly method must match the strip.
Rigid DiffuserThe strip is typically mounted in a channel beneath the cover.
Light Diffusion Approach
Silicone TubeSilicone appearance, emitting surface and strip position affect the result.
Rigid DiffuserCover appearance and its distance from the strip affect the result.
Installation Format
Silicone TubeA flexible length integrated with the intended mounting arrangement.
Rigid DiffuserA cover assembled with a corresponding channel or luminaire body.

TWO WAYS TO FIND THE FIT

Standard Silicone Tube or Custom Profile?

STANDARD SILICONE TUBE

Select an Existing Profile

Choose this route when an available cross-section fits your strip and installation.

  • Existing profile format
  • Select by cross-section and strip fit
  • MOQ 200 m

CUSTOM SILICONE PROFILE

Define a Different Shape

Choose a custom format when the geometry or assembly needs to change.

  • Project-specific dimensions and geometry
  • Drawing or sample based development
  • Tooling may be required

YOUR QUESTIONS

LED Silicone Tube FAQ

What is an LED silicone tube?

An LED silicone tube is a flexible silicone housing or profile used around an LED strip in a lighting assembly. Its cross-section provides space for the strip and helps define the visible light surface. Clear and light-diffusing formats serve different purposes, so the material appearance and profile should be selected together with the intended strip and installation.

How do I choose the correct silicone tube for my LED strip?

Start with the strip width, component height and the space available for installation. Compare these with the profile cross-section, then check the emitting surface, bending direction and assembly method. Share the strip specification and intended lighting effect when requesting a quote. A sample is useful for checking fit and appearance before committing to the selected profile.

What is the minimum order quantity?

The minimum order quantity is 200 m for LED silicone tubes. Include your estimated quantity together with the required profile, LED strip information and application when requesting a quote. For a custom size or cross-section, also include a drawing or sample reference so the quotation can address the specific profile and supply requirements.

Can the profile size or cross-section be customized?

Yes. Custom dimensions and cross-sections are available when an existing profile does not suit the installation. Share the required outer shape, internal space and strip position, preferably with a drawing or sample. A new profile may require tooling. The custom silicone extrusion page explains how to present the requirements for profile development.

Can I request a sample?

Yes. Samples are available for checking the selected profile before a bulk order. Tell us which profile you need, which LED strip it will house and how it will be installed. Sample details are confirmed with your request. Use the sample to review physical fit, the visible light surface and the intended assembly arrangement.

What information is needed to check LED strip compatibility?

Provide the LED strip width, the maximum component height, a strip specification or clear photograph, and any connectors or joints that must fit inside the profile. Also describe the intended light direction, bending path and installation method. Compatibility should be checked for the complete assembly, not inferred from the outer appearance of a silicone tube alone.

What is the difference between a standard tube and a custom silicone profile?

A standard tube uses an existing profile format and is selected by matching an available cross-section to the application. A custom silicone profile is developed around project-specific geometry or assembly needs, using a drawing or sample as the reference. Choose the standard route when the fit is suitable; consider a custom profile when the required geometry is not available.

Can material or compliance documents be provided?

Supporting material, supplier and product documentation can be reviewed according to the quoted profile and target market. State the document scope and destination market when requesting technical information. Availability and applicability are checked for the selected product, rather than assuming that one document covers every silicone tube, material or completed lighting assembly.
